DATAKWIP FEATURES

Features that
move the needle

Datakwip integrates into any building system to process both energy and non-energy data. Check out the features that make this possible.

We are scalable and easy to implement — no hardware needed.

With Datakwip, you can onboard yourself or have Datakwip help you, the choice is yours. We're able to onboard one building or multiple buildings with various data sources easily. No hardware needed, no headaches.

We harness the power of existing data and fill in your data gaps.

We'll turn every energy and non-energy data point into its own virtual submetering using data you already have. You can leverage the visual rules engine to create rules easily within a flowchart via Datakwip's proprietary GUI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trusted by by national and international companies

Who is responsible for onboarding by customer(s) building?

Datakwip or our Partner will onboard the building. In collaboration with our Partners, we determine what is best for the Customer.

How long does it take to onboard a building?

As long as all requirements are met, Datakwip can onboard a building in less than 24 hours

As a Partner, what are the upfront costs to onboard my customer(s) building(s)?

Datakwip does not charge partners any upfront costs for onboarding building(s). Datakwip is able to do this due to the efficiency of our methodologies and our patent pending performance characteristics of the Datakwip platform.

What additional hardware is needed to onboard a building?

While each building is unique, in 90% of cases no new hardware is needed to onboard a building with Datakwip.

Will power to the building have to be turned off at any time during the onboarding process for the building?

No, the building power does not have to be turned off. Datakwip’s onboarding process is not intrusive and does not impact existing operations. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible for the building.

Once my building is onboarded, when can I expect to start to receive analyzed data?

Once your building is onboarding, you will start receiving analyzed data immediately.

What if there are multiple buildings that need to be onboarded?

The Datakwip onboarding process is completely scalable and can be applied to one or many buildings simultaneously.

What is virtual submetering?

Without installing any new hardware, Datakwip’s patent pending virtual submetering technology uses and analyzes a building’s existing data to produce a granular, real-time energy profile for every energy consuming device in the building .

Forms of virtual submetering have been around for a while, what makes Datakwip’s unique?

Regardless of what building data is available, Datakwip’s virtual submetering engine will figure out the most readily available and accurate way to perform metering calculations for every energy consuming device.

What is the accurarcy of Datakwip's virtual submetering?

While Datakwip’s virtual submetering process is not a substitution for a revenue grade meter (ANCI C12), Datakwip’s customers use the virtual submetering technology for sustainability planning, operational optimization awareness as well as M&V purposes for many of their operating environments.

What is the most common use of Datakwip's virtual submetering?

Datakwip uses virtual metering to generate live + projected energy costs and savings analysis. These results enable building’s to make data driven decisions about where to focus energy management, operational optimization, and sustainability efforts to maximize the RIO on an ongoing basis.  M&V for benchmarking and utility incentive verifications are some other common uses for virtual submetering.

Does Datakwip work with other metering in addition to its virtual submetering?

Datakwip is 100% compatible with other hardware meters. Not only can other hardware meters be integrated into Datakwip’s platform, but Datakwip’s virtual submeters can be aggregated and disaggregated from hardware meters to produce an even greater granularity of the building’s energy usage. Other meters, such as water and BTU meters are also integrated with the platform.

What is the visual rules engine?

Datakwip’s visual rules engine makes it possible for Partners or the End Customers to easily create their own analytical rules, test, and automatically scale across their portfolio.

Do you have to be a programmer to use the visual rules engine?

Using Datakwip’s simple line and block diagram interface, non-programmers can efficiently leverage and utilize Datakwip’s automated and scalable tag-based infrastructure to query what normally would be complex and unexplorable building data.

What is the visual rules engine used for?

Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD), M & V, ECM discovery, generalized analytics.

Do Partners have to create their own rules to use Datakwip's visual rules engine?

No, on the contrary, the Datakwip rules engine has an expansive rules library that meets many of our partner’s needs.  For unique or new systems types, Datakwip includes rules authoring under its standard contract terms.

What is the cost of Datakwip developing new rules or modifying an existing rule, KPI or ECM?

Datakwip development of new rules, KPIs or ECMs is included in its standard offering.

Is there a cost adder to have access to the visual rules’ engine for Partners and their end Customers?

No, there is no cost adder, it is part of Datakwip's platform and there as part of our stand offering for Partners and the end Customers to use.

How do Partners and their end Customers learn to use the visual rules engine?

It is simple and easy to use with training included as Partner onboarding.  There is also a resource center module for “how to” references.

Testing rules was mentioned above, how is that done?

Testing of new rules can be done right in Datakwip's platform with the tool for any building that has been onboarded into the platform.

Who will manage access and privileges to the dashboard?

There is a “User Management” module in Datakwip's platform which our Partners and the End Customers can use to manage access and privileges on an individual level. This includes the Partner’s customers, other vendors, or their own personnel.

Is there a cost adder to have access to the dashboard?

No, you simply need to have the authorization and credentials set up to access and manage the dashboard.

Can the dashboard be customized?

Yes, there are capabilities to do some custom charts in the Datakwip's platform with the “Data Explorer” feature.  Additional dashboard modifications are included as part of the standard offering.

Does anyone else have access or can see my data or my customer's data on the dashboard?

No, the scope of all information exposed on any dashboard is controlled based on who is logged into the Platform.

Are the dashboards interactive and will they show live data?

Yes, real-time data and information is available with various parts of the dashboard.  By using the “Data Explorer” feature customized charts  can be created representing any system or sub-systems that data is being collected and analyzed for.
